Stealth

I watched Stealth two nights ago... Yikes! I'm having mixed emotions about this movie. It's more than that really, though. One minute I think, "yeah, that was okay." The next it's all about how bad it was. I think though that it was the ending that ruined it for me. No, wait, I just thought of it; Josh Lucas' all of a sudden turn about half way through the movie... That was it. Stupid. Anyway, the movie itself was a good idea. In some sense. A plane that can fly itself with a brain of it's own, able to fly, take orders, attack........ wait....... Yeah, no, stupid idea, stupid movie, bad acting, unnecessary love story on the side (which I managed to fast forward through). Still enjoyed it, but mostly because of the superb special fx. :( --5/10

The Island

I had a chance to watch The Island last night. Can we say 1984 meets the Matrix? Harvesting humans in a Utopian society, hrmmm.... Anyway, other than the overused plot, subplot, etc, I rather enjoyed the movie. Nice action, the story moved along nicely, and there was never a moment when I wanted to fast-forward out of pure boredom (which is rare for me these days). Scarlett Johansson does a really good job and, I have to say, looks far more appealing these days than she did in something like Lost in Translation (I shudder at the thought of having to watch that piece of garbage ever again). I'm going to rate this movie higher than most would I think, but for a no brainer kind of movie I think it's well done. --7/10
